With the latest data obtained from scientific analysis of many samples of timothy hay and much thought put into what we found deficient in common feeds, we have formulated a customised balance for horses and ponies fed timothy hay. This provides a superior supplement that will help keep your horse or pony healthy as it goes about its daily activities.

ForageplusTM Balancers are very low in sugar and starch; contain no fillers or bulking agents to make your horse’s stomach feel full, they only use the highest purity commonly deficient minerals.  The minerals used by Forageplus are of the highest quality so you can be sure that there will not be any contamination from heavy metals which could cause problems with absorption rates.

Our Timothy Plus balancer also contains sufficient protein in the form of our Topline Plus, meaning you should not need to supplement additional protein when also feeding our Timothy Hay.

Forageplus recommends the feeding of timothy hay with this supplement. The feeding of this hay will compliment both the balancer and the general profile of forage in the UK and Europe, whilst adding useful additional minerals and protein to support normal health in your horse or pony.

In winter (October-April) or if your horse is on a reduced grass or hay/haylage diet then you will need to add omega 3 fatty acids. Omega 3 isn’t found in the winter season and can be destroyed during the curing process; it’s best for them when fed at 42 grams per 220 kg bodyweight of micronised linseed which provides essential fatty acids they are missing out on during these months without good quality grazing.
